Alex Ryder A.K.A. Connatus

This is my Superhero/villain character for #SuperHerosUnlimted and #RPDream

Character Name: Alex Ryder (Known as Connatus in "superhero/villain form")

Appearance:
Physical:
Standing at roughly 6'3", his tousled sandy-blonde hair hangs just over his unforgettable eyes. They are bright orange around the pupil, a vivid blue lining the iris. His skin is tanned, and he is lean, but far from weak. Nevertheless, his body language more often than not suggests that he is not a threat in the slightest. Things are not always as they seem. Usual Attire:
Normally he is seen in a wrinkled white button-up shirt, with a snug black tee underneath. He favors loose jeans, dark in color and bleached at the knees. His hair generally remains hidden under a grey newsboy cap, his eyes concealed--for the most part--behind dark blue sunglasses. Alex mostly wears tennis shoes varying in tones, but always having black or white as the main color.

Superhero/villain Garb:
Depending on whether he is good or evil at the time, his costume is mainly black or white, respectively. His arms and shoulders are exposed, and he wears a tight-fitting shirt designed to allow him to move quickly and easily, with little resistance from the fabric. He wears dark jeans even as his hero/villain self, and keeps the tennis shoes from his day-to-day attire. He also wears fingerless gloves, one black, one white.

Personality:
He is a joker until the very end; he loves playing pranks on anyone and everyone, and takes pride in the fact that he very rarely gets caught. Though he enjoys playing pranks, he knows when to be polite and somber. He enjoys being in large groups of people, though substantially less so when he is on the side of evil. Alex loves a good laugh, and is very easily amused. He connects with people on an emotional level, often without having to say a word; he is also an excellent judge of character, and has the uncanny ability to read ones mood.

Weaknesses:
In Battle:
He is extremely susceptable to low temperatures, and often becomes complately unable to use his abilities at temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Should his eyes become covered in battle or he is blinded, his abilities will be of no use to him either.

In Every-Day Life:
He can't resist a good joke, or, for that matter, a well thought out prank. He's also a sucker for sweet foods, and just can't say no to the infamous "puppy dog eyes".

Weapon(s): An extenable rod, stored in a compartment strapped to his thigh. In another compartment strapped to his forearm, he holds smokebombs, in the event that he needs to make a quick getaway. The smoke carries hallucinogenic properties, but nothing more serious than causing slight dizziness and color distortion.

Regardless of Alliance:
Alex must have uninterrupted eye contact for this ability, and he often gets it by grabbing one's face and forcing them to look into his eyes. He can temporarily alter one's psyche, reversing their alliance for a short period of time. The longest he has ever reversed anyone's alliance was 20 minutes.

No other powers to speak of; he mostly relies on martial arts, agility, and acrobatic evasion techniques.

As A Hero:
Can observe and dissect an opponent's powers, and use his own energy to suppress, nullify, or weaken them as long as he has enough energy to do so. Best if used in a group; the more hits he takes and the longer he actually fights, the less time this ability will be useful.

As A Villain:
Observes and dissects an opponent's powers to copy and use as his own at up to half strength as long as he has the energy to do so. Requires less energy than his heroic counterpart's technique, but the principle is the same. The more hits he takes, the less time the technique is useful to him.

History:
When Alex was very young, he was poking around in his father's study, which was off-limits. His father was a well-known chemist, and had been working on a concoction that would allow people to connect with others without needing words or physical contact. Alex accidentally overturned the table when he was trying to reach a few papers on top of it, and the chemical coupled with a catalyst infused him with the powers that he has today. A side effect of the untested chemical was that his psyche would change from villanous to righteous, depending on the circumstances in which he found himself and the varying stress levels of aforementioned situations.
